Composite fillings are tooth coloured fillings, that unlike amalgam (silver coloured) fillings, stick to your teeth so they can be used to repair teeth (especially front teeth) which have been chipped, broken or decayed. They can also be used in back teeth if there is not too much decay or damage.
They come in a range of shades so they can be matched to the colour of your own teeth.
Very dry conditions are required when placing these fillings. This can be difficult to achieve right at the back of your mouth, and therefore these fillings may not be suitable in all situations.
