Dental implants Fareham Hampshire

Your teeth are an important part of your personal appearance and lifestyle. A beautiful smile enhances your overall presence, and healthy teeth allow you to eat and speak with confidence.

Healthy teeth are not something to be taken for granted.

Cavities, gum disease, and accidents are everyday occurrences that can lead to the loss of teeth. The loss of one tooth or several teeth can compromise your eating habits, speech, and appearance. In addition, when a tooth is lost, the bone that surrounds the tooth root can deteriorate affecting your appearance and bite.

Fortunately, for almost 30 years, dental implants have offered a solution for not only replacing the missing “crown” of the tooth, but the dental root as well. Dental implants provide a stable foundation for a tooth replacement that looks, feels, and functions like your natural teeth. This treatment option is backed by several decades of scientific research and successful clinical use. As a result, dental implants may be just the tooth replacement solution you are looking for.

What is a dental implant

A dental implant is a small screw made of titanium, which is a metal that the body easily accepts. The dental implant is inserted into the bone of the jaw, and over time the jawbone integrates with the implant surface, firmly anchoring it. Under normal conditions, the healing process can take as little as 6 weeks. After this time, a crown, bridge, or denture is secured to the implant. Ask your dentist how dental implants can work for your individual situation.

Benefits of dental implants

Dental implants are the closest possible replacement to natural teeth. They make replacement teeth stable for eating and smiling with confidence. Dental implants remove the need to cut down healthy teeth for a bridge. They can eliminate the pain caused by ill-fitting dentures. Dental implants help preserve the bone in the jaws. In some cases, they help maintain the shape of the face.
